How To Update A Dated Kitchen

Here are my top tips for adding Style to your kitchen Trends come and go, so it’s best to get inspiration from trends and not follow them when it comes to decorating your home.

Paint Update your dated or tired kitchen with simply re-painting the wall. Chose a colour that will work with existing work-top or cupboard doors.

WOW Factor It’s important to add some “WOW” to your space. Replace kitchen/barstools, I like to use acrylic-perspex as this will work for any kitchen style. It’s one of my favourite materials and it makes your kitchen fun, glamorous yet still functional.

Backslash Update your back-splash a MUST. There are SO many gorgeous tiles, glass, plain and coloured perfect for updating your kitchen back-splash. The back-splash is a perfect place to use marble if you are afraid of having it on your counter tops because of possible spills and stains. This way you can embrace this classic AND timeless material in your home.

Colour And finally punch things up with COLOUR. Go bold if you may. A vase of fresh flowers or artificial, a ball of lemons or fresh fruit will do the trick. Another way to add colour will be accessories placed on the worktop. If you don’t like bold colour you don’t have to use bright colours.

Window Treatment For the ultimate in flexibility, consider blinds (wood or fabric) that can be raised and lowered from the top or bottom as needed to allow you to control the view or the sunlight as needed.

Pick any three from above and you will have a new re-vamped kitchen.
